Ramadan Kareem Lecture Day 7

SALAAMU ALYKUM WARAHMATULLAH WABARAKATUH. Our point of the day is;
POINT 5: REFINEMENT OF MANNERS, ESPECIALLY THOSE RELATED TO TRUTHFULNESS AND DISCHARGING TRUSTS

The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever does not abandon falsehood in word and action, then Allah has no need that he should heave his food and drink." (al-Bukhari) What we learn from this, is that we must pay attention to the purification of our manners. The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I was sent to perfect good manners." (Malik) So we must check ourselves, are we following the behaviour of the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him)? For example: Do we give salam to those we don't know and those we do know? Do we follow the manners of Islam, by telling the truth and only telling the truth? Are we sincere? Are we merciful to the creation?

It says in al-‘Awn al-Ma’bood: “If he does not give up” means, if he does not refrain from. “False speech” means lying. “Allah has no need” – Ibn Battaal said: This does not mean that he is enjoined to stop fasting, rather what it means is a warning against false speech and the other things mentioned. … Ibn al-Muneer said: "Rather it is an indication that it will not be accepted". Ibn al-‘Arabi said: "What this hadeeth means is that he will not be rewarded for his fasting"(ALLAH KNOWS BEST). This Hadeeth was quoted as evidence to show that that these actions detract from the reward of fasting. Dear friends a lot of time saying what isn't truth is a part of us, it takes nothing from us to say the truth, in any case we find ourselves in a situation that the truth will be heavy, you are expected to keep quite. Muhammad SAW said" Say what is good or keep quite". With all these I urge you my friends to always say what it is right during and beyond Ramadân, for two reasons, to save your fasting and and to save your honor. Allah says in Surah Shu arah Verse 84, supplication of Prophet Ibrahim "And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations" reputation of honor means the word of truth. May Allah grant our tongues saying the truth for as long as we live Ameen.

D 6: Recognizing that one can change for the better

The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Every son of Adam sins and the best of the sinners are those who repent." (Ibn Majah) Allah provides many opportunities to repent to Him and seek His forgiveness. If one was disobedient they can become obedient.

The scholars unanimously agreed that the prayer of repentance is prescribed in sharee’ah. Abu Dawood (1521) narrated that Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “There is no one who commits a sin then purifies himself well and stands and prays two rak’ahs, then asks Allah for forgiveness, but Allaah will forgive him. Then he recited this verse: ‘And those who, when they have committed Faahishah (illegal sexual intercourse) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins; — and none can forgive sins but Allah — and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know’ [Aal ‘Imraan 3:135].” Classed as sahaah by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

Ahmad (26998) narrated that Abu’l-Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “The one who does wudoo’ and does it well, then stands and prays two rak’ahs or four (one of the narrators was uncertain), in which he remembers Allah and focuses well, then asks Allah for forgiveness, He will forgive him.” The editor of al-Musnad said: its isnaad is hasan. It was also quoted by al-Albaani in Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth al-Saheehah (3398).

Dear friends our sins shouldn't put us in the state of hopelessness, we all err as humans and no one is superhuman, we should remember that only the mercy of Allah will grant us Paradise. Is not a reason to continue disobeying Allah because He is the Merciful, sure He Is and His mercy overweight His Anger, but also we should appreciate all the favors He bestowed on us and check our trespass. Oh Allah Thou are certainly Ar Rahman-Ar Raheem. Forgive our past sins in this month, excuse our present one and shield us from the future ones Ameen.

REMEMBER YOUR HUMBLE FRIEND GHAZALI MUHAMMAD IN YOUR PRAYERS PLEASE.
