Whitney Houston had a hidden romance with her female best friend, According to her longtime ex-husband Bobby Brown.

The 47-year-old Brown says the late vocalist — often the subject of same-sex dating rumors was bisexual, claiming she embarked on a secret fling with her close pal and assistant Robyn Crawford before her death in 2012.

“I know. We were married for 14 years,” he told Us Weekly.

Houston, who was 48 when she died, always refuted the speculation that linked her to women. But Brown says that may have just been to avoid upsetting her family. The vocalist's mother, Cissy Houston, notably told Oprah Winfrey in 2013 that she would have been upset to learn her daughter was gay.

I really feel that if Robyn was accepted into Whitney's life, Whitney would still be alive today," the singer said. "She didn't have close friends with her anymore."

Despite Houston's apparent relationship with Crawford, Brown insists Houston was bisexual not a lesbian.

"I'm a man and she was attracted to me," he told the magazine.
