A goalkeeper proposed to his girlfriend on the halfway line prior to a North American Soccer League game. San Francisco Deltas were hosting New York Cosmos at the Kezar Stadium when the home side's number one Romuald Peiser got down on one knee.

The 37-year-old took his girlfriend to the centre spot and proceeded to stun her by popping the question.

His gesture was immediately greeted with howls and whistles of joy from the crowd, who were just as stunned.

The Frenchman met his girlfriend during his days at Ottawa Fury, where he spent three years. Luckily for Peiser, she said yes.
