20 herdsmen and 83 cows were reportedly killed in Adayi and Loko areas of Nasarawa LGA of Nasarawa State by gunmen suspected to be from Benue and Nasarawa states, over the weekend

Confirming the attack, the state police spokesman, ASP Ismaila Numa, said he could not verify the identity of the attackers, adding that the police only received the report and have commenced investigation.

The Fulani leader of Adayi area, Mallam Bideri Ahmadu, said the killing of the cows was carried out by people suspected to be Agatu gunmen. The traditional ruler of Loko, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Sabo, also blamed Agatu youths in the killing of 20 men in the attack. According to him, the gunmen crossed over from Benue at about 10:30 am on Saturday and started shooting sporadically, killing many people and cows.

"Upon realising they could not achieve their aim, the Agatu youths opened fire on the cows, killing many people and 83 cows instantly while others who sustained bullet wounds are lying in the bush," he said.

The paramount ruler of the area, Mai Loko, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Sabo told newsmen that  over 20 men, women and children were killed in frequent attacks on Fulani people by Agatu youths.

EFCC Arrests Adamawa Chief Of Staff Over N2.88billion

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the Chief of Staff to Gov.Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla, Abdurrahman Abba Jimeta, over his alleged involvement in N2.88 billion scam.

According to Leadership Newspapers, Jimeta who also served as chief of staff to former Governor Murtala Nyako, used his position to get some contracts and divert some of the state funds.

He is being investigated for his alleged involvement in a scam amounting to over N2.88 billion for the renovation of Yola International Hotel that was awarded during Murtala Nyako’s administration.

The contract for the project had been reviewed almost three times while payment were categorized into nine installments where the government then paid up to N2.664 billion leaving a balance of N204 million.


The EFCC operatives upon arrival in the state, sealed off some properties belonging to Jimeta located along Karewa road opposite Bekaji housing estate.

New York police officers were faced with an unusual challenge when they were confronted with a naked woman outside the city's Central Station.

The poor cops looked like they had no idea what to do as the large naked woman danced about, punching the air and kung fu kicking in their general direction.

One of the policeman attempted to stop the woman by putting a hand onto her back - but rather than halting, she spun around and threw a punch at him.

After a while the woman appeared to have exhausted herself, leaning forward with her hands resting on her knees, before walking over to a nearby bench and sinking down into it, wiping her brow with the back of her hand.

The policemen hover nearby, clearly unsure as to how to react to the bizarre situation.

After her brief rest the woman stood up and casually strolled away, as the cops followed cautiously behind her at a safe distance.

Mobile phone footage taken of the incident showed a police car pulling into shot - presumably to take the kung fu fighting exhibitionist away.

However, it was unclear what happened to the woman - or why she had decided to take her clothes off in the first place.

3 Kidnappers To Die By Hanging In Delta State

Three persons, Augustine Akpojivi, Dawel James and Collins Enye have been sentenced to death by hanging for kidnapping one Rufus Uzoma Allwell, a staff of Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company (WRPC). The convicts were found guilty as charged by the Delta State High Court, sitting in Asaba.

Besides, the death sentence, the convicts also bagged 20 years jail term each as they were also found guilty on three other counts of illegal possession of firearms, demanding with menace and stealing.

Akpojivi, a driver by occupation, Dawel also a driver and Enye, Okada rider and others still at large, had on August 10, 2013 at Aka Avenue, Effurun, conspired and kinapped the victim while armed with guns and demanded for a ransom of N2 million before releasing him.


However, two of the accused persons, Samuel Okoloda and Precious Ochuko escaped the death sentence as they were discharged and acquitted by the court for lack of sufficient evidence linking them to the crime.

Dawel who was the driver to the victim masterminded the kidnap of his boss and received part of the N2 million ransom paid by the elder brother of the victim.

While hailing the judgment, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Peter Mrakpor, expressed optimism that the judgment will send a strong signal to criminally minded persons in the state that it was no longer business as usual.

He said the State Government will continue to protect and uphold the laws of the state and create an enabling environment for investors and for the people to live together freely and harmoniously.

Mr. Mrakpor, also commended the exceptional courage displayed by witnesses in the matter who came out willingly without pressure to give evidence during trial and called on others to emulate the patriotic spirit put forward by the Prosecution Witnesses (PW).

He maintained that the verdict was for the well being, safety and good of the society, and enjoined the people of the state to be law abiding and join hands with the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration in moving the state forward.

32-Year-Old Driver Impersonates Air Force Officer, Extorts Money (Photo)

A fake Nigerian Air Force officer, Muhammed Abdullahi, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, for allegedly using the force uniform to extort money from unsuspecting members of the public.

He was brought before Chief Magistrate O.A. Olayinka on three counts bordering on impersonation and fraud.

Abdullahi, who was arrested in the Agege area, had confessed to the police that he bought the uniform from a soldier friend for N5,000.

The 32-year-old suspect said he used the uniform to escort traders and their goods to markets around the state, adding that he collected N3,000 for a trip.Abdullahi, who studied Computer Engineering at a polytechnic in Katsina State, had gone for three outings before luck ran out on him on February 2, when he was arrested.

The indigene of Manufashi Local Government, Katsina State, said he resorted to the act to cater to his family after he lost his driving job in December. “I was a commercial driver. I shuttled between Lagos and Abuja. But the owner of the bus, my elder brother, collected it from me in December and sold it when he wanted to travel abroad.

I have a National Diploma in Computer Science. I have applied for the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Air Force three times, but I did not succeed. I engaged in this act to feed my family. I have three children and my wife is pregnant. I regret my action.”

Fire fighters Use Bare Hands To Save Man After His House Crumbled And Buried Him

Firefighters used their bare hands to dig through the rubble and rescue a man who was trapped under a collapsed house in Mingxi county, southeast China’s Fujian Province.

Torrential rain triggered the house to crumble burying the man, who happened to be indoors attempting to fix it. The worker’s body was completely covered by masses of mud and wooden structures with his head only exposed.

Fearing equipment would cause further injuries to the trapped man, firefighters decided to dig around his body with bare hands. They eventually succeeded in removing him from the wreckage. Fortunately, the man had no life threatening injuries, and made it out with minor cuts.

Deadly Armed Robbery Gang Members Terrorizing Oyo, Ogbomoso And Ilorin Residents Arrested

A 26-year-old suspected armed robber, Teslim Muhammed, who hails from Kwara State, has told the Oyo State police how he got a gun from a colleague, attempted to use it to rob innocent people, but got arrested before carrying out the crime. ‎Mohammed was paraded at the Eleyele Police Headquarters on Friday along with ‎Aliu Azeez (28), Olanrewaju Ajayi (23), Kehinde Abiodun (28), Adeleke Adeyemo (28), and Adamu Muhammed (23). According to the state Police Commissioner, Leye Oyebade, the suspects, who the police said had been terrorising residents of Oyo, Ogbomoso and Ilorin in Kwara State, were arrested in their hideout on April 26 at about 3.00 p.m by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad based on intelligence report.

Confessing to the series of previous robbery operations they had been engaged in, Muhammed told New Telegraph that: “I am a native of Ilorin and I had been robbing in Ilorin before, but it was quite up to a year I robbed last before one boy named Tunde brought a gun to me at Agbabiaka area of Ilorin, saying that he wanted to sell it.‎ I then called another friend called AZ and we attempted to use it to rob, but we were unable to operate that day. “I later gave the gun to my other colleagues who went with it. But later, I saw policemen who came to arrest me. AZ and Tosin are my friends and we were doing this robbery operation together before we were caught. I met AZ not quite long. It was the arrest of the boy who brought the gun to me and his accomplices that led to my own arrest,” he said.

Explaining how the gang came about the series of arms ammunition displayed before them, Muhammed said: “All these arms recovered from us were just recently procured. We have not used them”, adding that ‎he was into robbery because his mother was dead and his father was unable to take good care if him.
