Kogi Screening Exercise: Father Names Child After Kogi Governor's Wife In Appreciation

Congrats to Miss Rashida Isah. She was born when the mother was at the on-going screening for the uncleared workers in Kogi State. Her birth received the attention of Governor Bello who swiftly stormed the scene to see the baby for himself. And like the biblical Simeon, the Governor received the baby, looked at her, smiled at the mother and those around, and then announced, "This baby shall be Rashida." He added that by Rashida's birth, the mother had passed the screening and would receive all her arrears.

His Excellency also made a cash donation of one million naira to the mother for baby items.

At the naming ceremony today at Ede in Idah Local Government, the father, Mallam Isah Shaibu, expressed gratitude to God and the Governor for turning around the screening into a bundle of blessing for him. He said he retained the name given by the Governor to show his appreciation.

Miss Rashida Isah was born at the screening venue in Government House on Saturday 28 January 2017 and was named today 3rd February. Congrats.
