Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, who was also the candidate of PDP at the Nove,be 21 and December 5 Governorship polls in the State has filed a petition challenging the declaration of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, as the winner of the governorship election in the state.
The Secretary of the Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, Mr. Akanji Akinlabi, told journalists in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, on Wednesday that Wada, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, filed the petition at about 7.15pm on Tuesday.
Akinlabi said Wada’s petition was signed by his lawyer, Chief Chris Uche (SAN), who is leading other lawyers including two other Senior Advocates of Nigeria. The respondents in the petition are the Independent National Electoral Commission, Bello and the APC. Let the battle begin.
