Kaduna Beggars Go On Strike, Storm NUJ Office To Explain Their Grievances

Beggars yesterday, 11th May, stormed the secretariat of the Kaduna Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists protesting they have gone on strike and want Gov. El-Rufai to listen to them in Kaduna State.

According to them, if the Governor wants to ban street begging he should fulfill his campaign promise of giving them 10 per cent job opportunity like he promised during his campaign days before sending them off the streets.

They adorned themselves with placards such as; “El-Rufai before stopping street begging pass state disability bill,” “El-Rufai, fulfil your campaign promises before stopping begging in Kaduna” and “Give us 10 per cent job opportunity as you promised before stopping street begging.”
