“Remain Calm, Law Abiding, I’m Still Your Gov” Ikpeazu Tells Abians

In a statement today, the embattled governor said: “I have received with concern, report of the purported issuance of Certificate of Return to Mr. Uche Ogah by INEC, as governor of Abia State, despite dependency of a notice of appeal and motion for stay of the orders made by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Our laws are clear on this matter. No one may be issued with a certificate of return let alone be sworn in as governor, when there is a subsisting appeal and application for stay. I want to appeal to Abians to remain calm and law abiding in the face of this provocation, unless and until the appellant courts have conclusively resolved the appeal, the status remains, I am still the Governor of Abia State.”...

Olisa Metuh Has Offered To Return N400m He Received From Dasuki, Declares Support For Anti- Corruption War

Former Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh has disclosed that talks have begun between his legal team and officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to facilitate his return of N400million traced to him from defence funds.

The funds which were primarily meant to fight Boko Haram insurgents were shared to party officials by former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan through the office of the Nation Security Adviser. Mr. Olisah through his lawyer Onyechi Ikpeazu has issued a statement again reasserting his intention to return the funds in its entirety to signify his support for President Muhammadu Buhari's anti-corruption war.

Metuh is currently undergoing trial for money laundering at a Federal High Court in Abuja.

See his full statement below:

Why Our Client (Chief Olisa Metuh) is Offering To Refund The N400 million – Counsel

In the light of the circumstances regarding the case of our client, Chief Olisa Metuh with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), we want to explain the reasons for our client's proposal to refund the N400 million released to him by former President Goodluck Jonathan, and which was expended on a project approved by the ex-President on national issues relating to his Presidency and the Federal Government at that time.

1. We want to restate that at the time the money was released to him after his presentation to the ex-President, our client had no knowledge of the source, a fact that is now obvious from the evidence of the prosecution and defence witnesses. Our client had every cause to believe that the money was from the ex-President to whom he made a presentation, received directives and rendered report and accounts accordingly.

2. When the matter first came up, and Chief Metuh was invited to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in December 2015, he requested to know the source of the money and expressed his readiness to make refunds if it was from government coffers, not minding that the money had been expended as directed by the former President. Officials at ONSA never got back to him as they promised, until his arrest by the EFCC in January 2016.

3. It was however while in court that a document was brought regarding the source of the money and since then, our Client has made manifest his willingness to refund the money and has indeed approached his family, friends and associates to mobilise funds to refund the entire N400 million to the government regardless of the fact that the money had been expended based on the directives of the former President and that part of the money had been recovered from one of the prosecution witnesses.

4. We want to confirm that since then, we have been in talks with the Ministry of Justice, the EFCC and other necessary bodies on how to refund the money and resolve the issue.

5. Our client occupied no government office. His commitment and dedication to his official duties have been confirmed by even prosecution witnesses. In this whole saga, he has been an unfortunate victim of circumstances. His refunding the money, therefore, goes to show his support for the anti-corruption war as well as serve as a testament to his sincerity, integrity and honesty in this matter.

6. There is no doubt that the prosecution has considerably embarked on some expenses in the course of this case. It is hoped that by not discounting the sum already recovered, whatever cost so far incurred would have been defrayed. By this, a critical objective of recovery of funds would no doubt be achieved.

7. It is pertinent to restate our client's continued support for the anti-corruption campaign, which is necessary to ensure probity in the affairs of Nigeria to the extent that it is conducted within the rule of law.
8. Finally, it is our client's prayer that this nation shall come through this difficult time by the grace of the Almighty God.

 Signed:
Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN)

Counsel To Chief Olisa Metuh .

Abdullahi Olatoye, The Windscreen Cleaner: A Victim Of Our Lost Humanity - Hidentity

Someone that goes by the handle Hidentity just released a trouble piece. Read below.

Today, I should be quoted for saying the greatest threat to humanity is the human that seeks to benefit from its working. We are diverse in configuration - good, bad, crooked, cunning, pathetic, sympathetic, and yes, the hybrid of two or more are no exception.

They are worse, the goats who disguise like they're sheep!

I left work today with a staunch yearn for a well deserved rest. I didn't expect a diverse drama from the usual: Passengers and conductors trading words, LASTMA illegally doing what is legal, the scramble for bus, having to deal with jumping down from a moving vehicle and the unceasing hooting by the unrepentant Lagos drivers. I remember I had to modify my voice to sound 'street' and crazy just to cajole a conductor to give me my deserved change. I am becoming a part of the system. All of us in Lagos are mad, but the justification for my hypothesis deserves a rare seat for the matter at hand.

The bus I joined was halted by the red demand of the traffic light on the independence bridge, just close to the Maryland mall. Lo and behold, I saw him- suited up, holding a black leather bag as he moved in a gait of resignation to fate from the front of one bus to the other. He was turned down by some while others marvelled at the pride with with he was doing his work. I wasn't sure, but then, he walked towards my vehicle and my doubt was cleared. Abdullahi Olatoye, the windscreen cleaner!

I alighted, walked to Abdullahi and sought an audience which he granted.
'I thought you were...' I mumbled some words to express my consternation as to why a windscreen cleaner turned model/tailor became a windscreen cleaner again. 'It turned out to be a regret, I wish I had not...' Abdullahi responded and a stare into his eyes gave him out as a victim of our lost humanity. We both walked to a corner as I made enquiries from him. After about 30 minutes, I needed no sorcerer to tell me Abdullahi has had his share of our hypocrisy. The type of promises orphans are acquainted with and the disappointments that are connected.

My piece is not to point fingers, Abdullahi was not ready to cast imputation on the character of anybody or organisation too. I have only come to tell Nigerians and the world: Abdullahi is back to the starting point.

His supposed helper-the outfit entity that picked him up when his story went viral claimed to have enrolled Abdullahi in the National Open University, but Abdullahi told me it was not a true news. He was neither taught any trade nor given any benefit. In fact, he had to sort himself out for transportation anytime he was to meet the bandwagon of Nigerian helpers.

For the record, news have been flying around vilifying Abdullahi, he was said to run back to windscreen cleaning work as 'HE CANNOT DO ANY OTHER THING'. Posts have gone on instagram and other media, but Abdullahi's version could not be heard as his post to express his side was blocked from Instagram. He was advised by agents of these 'helpers' to keep mute as saying anything will tarnish his image. Abdullahi did, but his situation makes a deafening noise.

His helpers had expected that picking him up will mean a boost in their fortune- that some multinational companies would come and their stories will change too, but did Abdullahi assure them of a partnership with Glo or Shell in the first place? How many apparitions of men do we have to run from? Crooked keepers of faith and religion? Bosses and relatives with sinister agenda? Neighbours with negative motives? The fury of the wealthy? The anger of the poor? And the gimmicks of the helper? Maybe Abdullahi was different, but I saw a video interview of the unilag guy where he claimed he was not given accommodation as promised and circulated by the humans of this nation.
Abdullahi sought my help in broadcasting his version and I shall feature his unedited account tonight. I shall consult friends on Instagram and twitter to do same. I have his contacts and links for any Nigerian with the heart of a human. Abdullahi Is not looking for overnight success, he Is only asking for an opportunity to compete.

Is that too much to ask for? Or his original crime is being born in Nigeria?

We Can No Longer Pay Salaries Because Of Niger Delta Avengers - Delta State Gov

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has cried out that the impact of the renewed destruction of oil assets in the state's oil producing parts has gone so bad that the state is now unable to pay salaries regularly.

Speaking at the Government Office Annex in Warri on Wednesday where he convened a stakeholders meeting, the governor said: “The larger Nigerian government has been in financial crisis over dwindling oil prices. Increased production would have helped cushion the impact but instead we are faced with destruction of oil assets.

“Dealing with dwindling oil prices and destruction of oil assets, we are now producing just half of our quota. And we are all really worried because of the greater effect is on Delta State.

"Before now we receive up to N20billion monthly, but what we have now is so low.

Last time we got only N3.4billion. Last month what we received has dropped to N3billion. We now get 1/7th of what we use to have.”

The governor said, going by the current financial position, the state was no longer in a position to pay salaries regularly just as Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, has also nosedived.

“We met a wage bill of N7.4 billion. Our workforce has been unchanged. With biometrics and rationalization, we trimmed that to about N6.8 billion. With the situation, we have in our hands, we are not in position to pay workers regularly anymore.

“If we produce our normal volumes, we won’t have it this bad. We have had to reduce support to the councils. And apart from poor income from Federation Account, IGR has also gone down because money is not circulating.

“I do know that we were receiving reasonable Pay As You Earn, PAYE of up to N1.5bn and N1.6bn monthly. That has gone down. We should realise there’s a challenge. Political office holders, traditional rulers should build peace. Delta State has been on the news for the wrong reasons and that’s not where we want to be.”

Senate Says AGF’s Absence Is A Big Slap On Them, As They Walk Representative Out Today

According to the official twitter page of the Senate, @NGRSenate, which we have been following, the Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami today failed to honour the invitation of the Senate. The AGF however sent in a representative, the S.A to President Buhari on prosecution, Ministry of Justice, but was asked to leave shortly after he told them, he was there to represent the AGF, as he was out of the country.

The Chairman responded saying, it was the AGF that was summoned and not him, and they asked him to excuse them.

The Chairman of the Committee, Senator David Umaru then went on to say;
"The purpose of this hearing was to defend Nigeria's Democracy but the AGF has faulted the invitation of the Senate again."

"This is a slap on the face of the Senate as the AGF has refused to appear before the Committee after being summoned", Senator Utazi said. Utazi went further saying; "We just want to ask the AGF a few questions to clarify all these issues but he has failed to respond to our invitation.

In conclusion, Senator Umaru thanked everyone and said; "What we'll do now as a Committee is to report back to plenary and then we will know what next is to be done."

The AGF had been invited to speak on the issues surrounding the alleged forgery of Senate Standing Rules which the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and two others are being prosecuted at the FCT High Court for.

INEC Issues Certificate Of Return To Uche Ogah As Abia State Governor

It’s been drama galore in Abia State, Recall that on Monday this week, a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to vacate office and shortly after that, the Governor told the people of Abia to relax as he was still in power ‘legally’ and would appeal the judgement. Fast forward to Thursday, his counterpart, Uche Ogah who came 2nd in the PDP primaries has now been handed a certificate of return by INEC as ordered by the judge which automatically makes him the new Governor.

It would be recalled that Ogah had dragged the Governor to court, on the account of fake tax returns during their party’s primaries, saying Mr Ikpeazu, was never qualified to run in the PDP primaries as a governorship candidate.

So what is next now? Will Governor Ikpeazu go home?

I Never Made A Negative Prediction About President Buhari's Health - Rev. Mbaka

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, said Thursday that some Nigerians were trying to cause problem between him and the presidency.

The priest, who is in charge of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria, spoke through his media Chief, Barr Ike Maximus Ugwuoke.

According to him, “‎our attention has been drawn to a report in a section of the media alleging that Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria said that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has slim chances of surviving from his ill health.

“The true fact is that there were media reports, making fuss about Mr President’s health and insinuating Mr President‘s slim chances of recovering from his ill health, published immediately the president went on vacation.

“Fr Mbaka referring to the said media report during his prayers for the sick in the ministry prayed with the worshippers of the ministry for Mr President’s healing and health after which there were lots of testimonies from the sick that were healed of blindness, elephantiasis, deafness, cancer, tumor and all other diverse healings at the end of the prayer session.”

He quoted Mbaka as saying: “They say the sickness is E.N.T. When it affects, the ear, it affects the nose and affects the neck. We pray for our President and any one that is suffering such a dangerous disease.

“We lift our healing hands for divine healing upon our president. Wherever he is, may he be healed in Jesus name.

“The doctors in Nigeria are nursing fear that he may not survive but we have a healing God. His name is specialist in impossibilities.”

He added that some ‎persons were nose-diving in the affairs of the ministry with a view to causing unnecessary rift between the ministry and the presidency.

Boko Haram Suicide Bomber kills Eleven In Cameroon

At least 11 people have been killed in Northern Cameroon by a Boko Haram suicide bomber, a provincial governor said Thursday, warning civilians not to breach special security measures aimed at preventing such attacks.

It was the latest in a spate of raids blamed on the Nigeria-based Islamist militant group in the area, which have driven tens of thousands of people from their homes.

A security source said the attacker blew himself up in the town of Djakana near the Nigerian border overnight.

“Seven people were killed immediately, including the bomber,” the source said, adding that most of the victims were members of a local vigilante group tasked with hunting down Boko Haram fighters. They were gathered in a video room when the attacker entered and triggered his explosives,” the security source said.

Midjiyawa Bakari, the governor of the region, told AFP that 11 people had died and four had been wounded.

Bakari slammed “the imprudence of the youths running the video club,” adding: “While such activities are forbidden, they take risks in showing films at night in the bush…

“We are asking on the local population to wait until we give the go-ahead for the resumption of such activities, especially on the frontline,” he said, referring to security measures put in place in the area in the wake of Boko Haram raids.

Dasuki's Detention: ECOWAS Court Adjourns Judgment Indefinitely

The Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS) Community Court of Justice has adjourned indefinitely judgment in the case of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) against the Federal Government in which he challenged his unlawful detention by government since December 2015 in the custody of the Department of the State Security Service (DSS).

The court, presided over by Justice Friday Nwoke had on May 16 reserved judgment till today after taking final argument from Dasuki’s lawyer Mr. Robert Emukperuo and government lawyer Mr. Tijani Gazali.

However, journalists, lawyers and other observers who stormed the regional court in Abuja Wednesday were taken aback when they were told that the much awaited verdict of the court was not ready and that the new date for the judgment would be communicated to lawyers when ready.

Dasuki had dragged the Federal Government before the ECOWAS Court praying the regional court to intervene in his detention without trial since December last year.

See How Senate Rules Were FORGED For Saraki And Ekweremadu’s Elections (Full Details)

According to this exclusive report by Premium Times, the deputy clerk of the National Assembly, Benedict Efeturi had indeed confirmed to police investigators that the senate’s standing orders used for the 2015 elections of Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu as senate president and deputy, were different from the original version which should have been in use at the time.

Details of police investigation shows that

Mr. Efeturi made the disclosure to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the Nigerian Police, which investigated allegations that the rules were forged to help Messrs. Saraki and Ekweremadu to their posts.

He however said the alteration, which some senators denounced as illegal as lawmakers were not informed about, was based on the directive of the former senate leadership, then led by David Mark.

He said that the amendment was done “by convention and practice” and not by “procedure”, claiming that the previous versions of the rules were amended by the same method.

But Senator Ita Enang, who was in charge of Rules and Business said no such thing happenedThe rules of the entire Senate can not be amended by just the word of mouth of David Mark.

Messrs. Saraki, Ekweremadu, Efeturi and a former clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa, have been charged with forgery. They were arraigned on Monday before a High Court in Abuja.

The senate president and his deputy accuse President Muhammadu Buhari of bias, and argue that the case is a violation of the independence of the legislature.

In his statement to the police, Mr. Efeturi, who is also the Clerk of the Senate, had said the leadership of the seventh Senate under Mark ordered the 2015 Standing Rules be amended.

According to the report, he “stated that the leadership of the National Assembly of the 7th Senate ordered the 2015 Standing Rules as amended by their convention and practice. (He stated) that the Senate Standing Orders 2003, 2007 and 2011 followed the same procedure as that of 2015. He emphasized that in the Parliament, amendment of the Standing Orders is by practice not necessarily by procedure.

“He further stated that during the ruling of the Senate President on the 24th of June 2015, that the Senate Standing Orders of the Senate 2015 is authentic, final, relevant and cannot be challenged. He attached a copy of the debates of the Senate on Wednesday, the 24th of June where the Senate President ruled (that) the Senate Standing Order 2015 as authentic Standing Orders of the 8th Senate.”

“Fraudulent amendment”
Funny enough, Mr. Maikasuwa, who conducted the elections of Messrs Saraki and Ekweremadu, claim that he did not refer to any Senate Standing Rules, rather, he said he only performed his duty using “normal procedures for the opening of a new parliament”.

He said, in the police report, “that before the election, he called on the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly who is also the Clerk to the Senate to read out the guidelines for the election”.

He denied knowledge of the existence or production of an amended Senate Standing Rules 2015, saying he had no business in the daily activities in the Senate.

He told the police Mr. Efeturi was “in better position to know of the 2015 Standing Orders as amended”.

The report says a number of Senators, including Suleiman Hukunyi, Kabiru Marafa, Ahmed Lawan, Abdullahi Gumel, Gbenga Ashafa, Robert Boroffice and Abu Ibrahim, were invited during the investigation.

In their separate statements, they said the seventh Senate did not amend the 2011 Standing Rules and thus, the amendment rules used for inauguration of the eighth assembly was fraudulent since there was no compliance with the requirements for amendment of Senate Rules.

Mr. Lawan, who contested and lost the senate presidency to Mr. Saraki, said, “The procedures for election into the two presiding offices are clearly stipulated in Order 2 (2(i) of the Senate Standing Rules 2011. That contrary to the provision of the above order, the Clerk to the National Assembly introduced and used order 3(3) e (ii) of the purported 2015 Standing Order”.

The report also noted the submissions of some former lawmakers like Ita Enang, who was chairman, Rules and Business. He told the police categorically that the previous Senate did not amend the rules.

Lawyer Who Wants Buhari Out Of Office For Alleged Fake Certificate, Discontinues Suit

A lawyer, Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe, has filed a notice at the Federal High Court in Abuja to discontinue the suit he instituted seeking the disqualification of President Muhammadu Buhari for lack of requisite certificate for the office of President.

Ahaaiwe sought the disqualification of Buhari saying the President did not sit for the Cambridge West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1961 as he claimed.

However, he filed the notice of discontinuance, this week and did not give any reason for withdrawing the case from court.

The lawyer had alleged that his family and friends were being threatened over the case and was concerned for his safety.

Police Arrest Suspects Involved In Burning 47 BRT Buses Following Death Of HAWKER (Photo)

arrested suspects
All hell was let loose in Maryland, Lagos, yesterday when a hawker was crushed by a truck. His colleagues went wild, destroying about 47 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses belonging to Primero Transport Service Ltd and several others owned by LAGBUS Asset Management.

The debris of the buses filled the road from Maryland to Obanikoro.
Eyewitnesses said the eyeglasses hawker was trying to evade arrest by Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) officials when he ran into the truck’s path.

The accident, which happened around 1.15pm, caused a traffic gridlock, which stretched from the Maryland Independence Tunnel to Fadeyi.
An eyewitness said:

“KAI officials pursued the guy who tried to run away with his wares, but he was hit by a truck which was on high speed.
But another witness said the hawker ran into a Honda vehicle and was crushed.
He said:
“What I saw was a Honda vehicle which was on high speed. It hit the guy when he was running towards the other side of the road and he died immediately while his intestine came out. Immediately the vehicle owner realised he had killed someone, he parked and stepped out to  sympathise with the guy’s fellow hawkers but he was later asked to leave as many people reasoned it was not his fault but KAI’s who pursued him to death.”
A mob barricaded both sides of the road, hindering motorists’ movement.
The mob, The Nation learnt, chased away the first and second batches of policemen that arrived on the scene.
To escape from the mob, some drivers were said to have abandoned their buses and fled. Others manoeuvred their way out of the mayhem.
Some hawkers told The Nation:
“Those KAI officials are wicked people. Can you imagine how cruel they are? The innocent man had already obeyed them by running away to avoid being punished but they kept chasing him till he was killed by a car. Immediately they saw that the car had knocked him down, they drove off speedily. We are all human beings and we are not happy with the situation. We need to let the government know that we can’t take the injustice. Therefore, venting our anger on the buses is the best way to let them know what they have done is bad. The poor man is gone but we will make sure all the buses that would ply this road today must pay for his death.”
A driver with Primero Transport Service Ltd, Mr Adedeji Adeosun, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN):
“I was in traffic for about 20 minutes at Maryland. Then I saw some people running from Maryland and I opened the door to see what was happening. I heard shouts from people that we should come down, so, I immediately removed my uniform. I saw about 100 of the hoodlums otherwise called ‘area boys’ coming with stones and so I ran away.
“All the passengers on board my bus also came down and ran for dear life. I was hit by a big stone”.
Another driver, Mr Michael Onabolu, said:
“I saw people running and shouting that I should come down from the bus. And all of a sudden, I saw some guys surrounding the buses and asking my passengers and I to come down. Before I knew it, one of them hit the bus with a big stone and I could not move because of the traffic. I was wounded on my hands and my thighs with stones’’.
He said the passenger beside him was also hit by a stone, adding that all the passengers were moved to other buses to continue their journey.
A commuter, Mr Elijah Omotayo, said the mob attacked their driver for not opening the doors.
Omotayo, a student, told NAN: “They started throwing stones and one of the stones hit my head”.
Primero Ltd Managing Director Mr Fola Tinubu, expressed displeasure over the incident, saying: “We don’t know what happened, whatever it is; it is something that has to do with the government or the police. But does that give aggrieved people the right to destroy private property”.
He added:
“People are saying that there are no jobs in Nigeria; we have created over 2,000 jobs in the last six months. Is this the reward we will get for it? We need to start asking ourselves serious questions in this country. They have destroyed over 14 of our buses now. I don’t even know how many they have destroyed now. For what, what did we do? I am angry. I don’t even know where to begin because there is no justification for destroying private property; our service is for the masses. Do you know how many people will be stranded today if we don’t go out to pick them up? How are they going to get home? We do this for the masses. Is this the reward that we will get? This is madness.”
Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) Communications Director Mr Kola Ojelabi told The Nationlast night that about 47 BRT buses were destroyed.
This, he said, was more than 10 per cent of the numbers of buses on that route.
A combined team of soldiers and policemen restored law and order before traffic started moving again.
They used tyres and big stones to shield the body to ensure free flow of traffic.

Update: Man Who Raped Sales Girl To Coma Burnt To Death In Delta State

Pandemonium struck at the Ekuigbo community of Ughelli-North Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday after a suspected rapist was set ablaze.

The suspect was reportedly among the hoodlums who attacked a 22-year-old sales girl where she sold fish feed and gang raped her into coma on Monday. Read Here if you miss it.

Recall that the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Celestina Kalu, had confirmed the incident to DAILY POST, saying investigation into the case has begun. The PPRO had said the victim was receiving treatment at the Accident and Emergency, A&E, Unit of the Central Hospital.

However, all efforts to get through to the PPRO on the new development as at press time were abortive.

DAILY POST gathered that the unnamed victim has died and residents consequently apprehended one of the suspects and burnt him to death while onlookers gathered to behold the gory sight, including men in police uniform.

*Jungle Justice is horrible. He committed a crime but the people who burnt him to death will answer to God on Judgement day. No one has any right to take another person's life irrespective of crime committed.....

The Right Thing To Do Is To Resign, SGF Tells Bukola Saraki, Ike Ekweremadu

David Babachir Lawal, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has asked the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu to resign as that is the right thing for them to do. Lawal while urging the Senate leaders to tender their resignation letters, cited an example of a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Salisu Buhari, who was accused of certificate forgery and honourably resigned.

In a statement personally signed by him,  Lawal said the positions of the Senate leaders were contradictory. He also described their statements as unfortunate, stating that the Federal Government was not deciding the trial of the duo.

The Senate, in a swift reaction however last night had said the two principal officers will not resign, insisting that it was being assaulted by the executive arm of government in the ongoing trial of its leaders.

But Lawal said, the Senate was not on trial for forgery, but that only the actors in the alleged act, the Senate President, his deputy and two others being prosecuted.
