A young woman, Ashley Greenhalgh with Down syndrome became elated when her boyfriend got down on one knee and proposed to her with a promise ring on the night of her 21st birthday and graduation. She was unwrapping birthday presents at a luncheon with close friends and family when she pulled out a ring box from Danny Griffiths, her boyfriend of two years.
He saved up money from work to buy the diamond promise ring. And although they don't plan on getting married just yet, Ms Greenhalgh's sister Courtney said he wanted to prove he'll always be there for her.
