23-Year-Old Bike Rider And 300-Level Student Wins Parliamentary Seat In Kenya (Photo)

John Paul Mwirigi won the Igembe South Parliamentary seat in Meru County, with 19,366 votes. Mwirigi is currently a 300-level university student whose campaign was financed by his supporters.

On holidays, he worked as a bike rider in Maua town. He ran as an independent candidate, while his rival, Joseph Mwereria, contested on a Jubilee Party ticket.
