Kogi @25: Basit Dankudi Send A Congratulation Message To Governor Bello And The Entire people Of Kogi State On The Ocassion Of The Silver Jubilee Of Kogi State

Today we are entering a new era for our state and its people. Today we celebrate not only the victory of our past leaders but a victory for all the people of kogi state Our state has arrived at a decision. Among all the parties that contested the elections, the overwhelming majority of Kogi state have mandated Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello to lead our state into the future. The Kogi state we have struggled for, in which all our people, be the Igala, Ebiras, Okun, regard themselves as citizens of one nation is at hand.      

This is the day when we celebrate the very essence of kogi state and the spirit that has defined us as a people and as a nation for more than 25 years. Even now, all these years later, we still look in awe at the small band of patriots who stood up and risked everything, and defied an empire to declare “that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states.”                  

Your Excellency sir, today you are making a history, a history that will bring back the memories of our founding fathers. Like I said in my previous message,Your election to this high office has inspired people as few other events in recent times have done. This is to encourage those who want more from life, the truth seekers, miracle hunters and peace lovers. You were made for greatness and for a powerful, supernatural life - don't give up on your journey my brother. "Hope is a powerful weapon even when nothing may remain" we will learn from your success.

We dedicate this day to all the heroes and heroines in Our state who sacrificed in many ways and surrendered their lives so that we could be free. "There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountain tops of our desires." They have tried for the struggles.


We would also like to pay tribute to our political leaders for the distinguished role they have played in securing our first democratic elections and the transition to democracy, from blood-thirsty forces which still refuse to see the light. The time for the healing of the wounds has come. The moment to bridge the chasms that divide us has come. The time to build is upon us. We have, at last, achieved our political emancipation.  I plead with the governor to liberate all our people from the continuing bondage of poverty, deprivation, suffering,  gender and other discrimination. We succeeded to take our last steps to freedom in conditions of relative peace. We commit ourselves to the construction of a complete, just and lasting peace. 

This needs unity of purpose. It needs in action. It requires us all to work together to bring an end to division, an end to suspicion and build a nation united in our diversity. The people of kogi state have spoken in the last previous elections. They want change! And change is what they will get. 

Your excellency sir, Let your plan be focus on creating jobs, promote peace and reconciliation among the ethnic group in the state  and to guarantee freedom and equal right for all. And also tackle the security of the state and the widespread poverty that is so pervasive among the majority of our people. By encouraging investors from other country and the federal government to support job creating projects in which manufacturing will play a central role. Change the face of kogi state and make a better life for all.

Congratulation once again to my governor and the people of kogi state. May God almighty bless your administration and you as we look ahead to build together, Kogi State of our dreams. I celebrate you all.
