Parading the suspects - Mrs. Ngozi Anyanwu and Goodluck Anyanwu - before newsmen at the Imo State Police Command in Owerri, Police Commissioner, Taiwo Lakanu, said when the command received the news of the sudden disappearance of a new born baby on August 19, 2016, his men immediately swung into action.
The CP said though the child was abducted the same day he was delivered, the response system put in place by his command ensured the baby was recovered from the heartless kidnappers from their hideout in Umuelemai in Isiala Mbano area of the state.
He said, “On August 19, I received a distress call about the stealing of a day old male child in Isiala Mbano council area of the state.
“We promptly swung into action and immediately recovered the baby unhurt within 48 hours at the kidnappers den in Umuelemai.
“I am happy to announce to you that we have handed over the baby to his parents and that the suspects would be charged to court.”
