A Russian bodybuilder who developed Popeye-like arms after injecting dangerous chemicals into them has been slammed by critics.
Kirill Tereshin, 21, from Pyatigorsk in south western Russia’s Stavrolol Krai region, has been sharing pictures of his bizarre body shape on social media.
He developed his huge 60 centimetre (24 inch) biceps by injecting site enhancement oil, commonly known as synthol, into his arms.
Kirill is clearly proud of his biceps and triceps despite the fact that they are completely out of proportion with the rest of his body.
He plans to continue with his risky regime, which also includes workouts, and hopes to one day break bodybuilding records.
Kirill started injecting himself with synthol after leaving the army this summer and increased the size of his biceps by 26 centimetres (10 inches) in just 10 days
He began by injecting 250 ml into his biceps but found that would make them grow by no more than 3 cm (just over one inch). Kirill said: “In order to reach such a size, you need to inject litres into your arms. “I was doing it and getting a fever of up to 40 degrees, I was lying in bed, feeling like I was dying, but then it all turned out fine.” He added that his body weight had increased from 62 kilogrammes (9 st 11lbs) to 68 kilogrammes (10 st 10 lbs) since he started the injections.
Social media users have been expressing concern over the damage he could be doing to his health.
Netizen ‘glacier’ said: “He should be sent to psychiatric hospital for treatment”, while ‘Tornado’ added: “This is awful. So stupid and ugly.”
