A suspected crook has been dubbed "Britain's most unsubtle thief" after it seems he was on CCTV brazenly marching out of a shop carrying a huge flat-screen TV. The suspect was caught on camera shamelessly striding out of the Co-op store with the £300 Digihome TV he had just lifted from a display.
Derbyshire Police released images of a man they want to speak to following the theft at the branch in Glossop, Derbs., on March 27.
A force spokesman said: "Sometime between 1pm and 1.30pm a man entered the Co-op on Norfolk Street, Glossop and took a Digihome TV from display. "He then left the store without paying.
"Staff from the Co-op followed him out of the shop to the train station where the TV was left and the offender ran off.
"Our officers have now released CCTV stills of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident."
Web users quickly took to social media to express their dismay at the audacity of the theft, with the suspect making no attempt to conceal his loot.
