Sad!! NYSC Corps Member Returning From Ede Camp Killed By Gunmen

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly killed a corps member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

According to a report by SaharaReporters, the gunmen also abducted others along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

The corps members were reportedly attacked on their way from Ede NYSC Orientation Camp, Osun State, and were heading home when they were attacked.

The number of abducted corps members have yet to be ascertained as police, and NYSC authorities have not commented on the incident.

The deceased corps member’s body has been deposited at the Sabon Wuse General Hospital in Niger State.

He was said to be a graduate of English Language from the Federal University, Gashua.

A 29-year-old woman, has been jailed after she tricked her friends to sponsor her dream wedding by faking cancer.

Toni Standen of Widnes, Cheshire, made up a story that she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had just two months to live.

Friends launched a GoFundMe page to help her and her partner James have a ‘wedding they deserve’.

She has been jailed for five months and ordered to to repay a donation of £2,000 made by a local businessman.

The Crown Prosecution Service said that in June 2015 Standen told two of her friends, Ashlea Rowson and Jennifer Douglas, that she had been diagnosed with terminal vaginal cancer.

Ms Standen provided regular updates on her treatment to her friends with such clarity and detail that the condition was never questioned.

She also shaved her head to appear as though she was undergoing treatment and shared pictures of this on social media.

The fraudster later claimed to have two months to live and said her wish was to have her 57-year-old father Derek, who was dying of cancer, walk her down the aisle.

Her friends began fundraising to help fund the wedding which was held after the death of her father at St Bede’s Catholic Church in Widnes.

Her father Derek died before the wedding but a video he recorded was played on the big day.

One guest said:

‘After hearing her father’s laboured words she got up and gave a faultless speech, even cracking a few jokes.

‘Her mother and brother were in bits. We’d all just listened to a father of the bride message from beyond the grave.

‘Toni even received a video message from Everton FC, delivered by one of the top players. She laughed throughout.’

Eventually she admitted what she had done in a three-way phone call with her friends which they recorded.

In the call she admitted that she did not have cancer and never had.

In a text to friends after she admitted her scam, she said: ‘I love you both, I am thankful for everything over the last couple of years.

‘I am very sorry for all of this, I am embarrassed and heartbroken and right now I am struggling.

Sad! Man allegedly beats his 8 months pregnant wife to death

A nurse who was 8-months pregnant has been reported dead and her husband is being accused of beating her to death.

Ms Anya Adaeze, aka Mummy David, was allegedly beaten by her husband, Olabode Oluwasanmi, in Akure, Ondo State.

According to sources, the incident occurred last week. The deceased was 8-months pregnant when the domestic violence incident

It was revealed that she had a misunderstanding with her husband and he allegedly beat her up with an iron rod. The beating was so serious that she was rushed to Federal Medical Centre, in Owo, and upon examination, it was discovered that her uterus had been ruptured.

An emergency Caesarean section was done to bring out the baby but the baby didn’t survive. Adaeze was placed on oxygen and died on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020.

It was gathered that Adaeze, who was the breadwinner of the house, had allegedly revealed to her colleagues at Federal Medical Centre, Owo, about the abusive nature of Olabode before her death.

Housewife allegedly stabs ‘peacemaker’ during fight

A housewife, Salimat Hamza, on Friday appeared in a Kaduna Upper Sharia Court, for allegedly stabbing a ‘peacemaker’, who was trying to separate a fight.

The 22-year old defendant, who resides along Taiwo Road Kaduna, is charged with causing grievous hurt.

The prosecution counsel, Insp. Abubakar Shehu, told the court that the ‘peacemaker’ who was also the defendant’s neighbour, Halima Musa, reported the matter at Sabon Gari Police Station on March 15.

He alleged that the defendant on March 15 stabbed the complainant with a knife when she tried to separate a fight between Hamza and another neighbour.

Shehu said that the complainant suffered deep cuts on her head and hand.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 219 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The judge, Mustapha Umar, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum. He thereafter adjourned the case to April 3, for further hearing.

A 48-year-old farmer and petty trader, Theddius Audu reportedly impregnated his 15-year-old daughter Justina in Wuyeya, a village under Assakio, Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Audu took up the sole responsibility of his daughter’s upbringing after his marriage to Talatu Ayi from Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state ended 13 years ago due to irreconcilable differences.

The Nation reported that his younger sister who helped out in raising the little girl, died in a tragic accident in January 2019 on her way back from Lafia market. Audu decided to relocate to a three-bedroom apartment he had managed to build in the village after the incident, so his daughter could live comfortably in safety and without any fear. The decision resulted in a pregnancy as Justina is 4 months gone already.

Recounting how the sad incident occurred, Justina said;

“God has inflicted a permanent wound on me; there is absolutely no point keeping me alive. I think I should just commit suicide and die, rather than continue living to bear this shameful burden. God has not been fair to me and I don’t know my sin or offence. My mother left me when I was barely two years old; and up till now, hasn’t taken as much as a second look back. My late aunty Agnes, who brought me up died, recently and now I’m pregnant for my father. What could be worse than that,” she asked bursting into tears.

“When my aunty died in an accident, my father moved me into his three bedroom apartment to occupy one of the rooms. He used to check my private part to see if I had started menstruating or having sex with boys. One night, I was sleeping after a hectic day; he came into my room, removed my wrapper and inserted his finger in to my private part, asking if I had started menstruating. I woke up suddenly from sleep and asked, “Daddy why are you doing this to me?”

“He asked if I had had sex before and I said no. He then said he would use his penis to test my virginity. Before I could utter any word, he had climbed on top of me. I wanted to scream, but he held my mouth and penetrated into me. I struggled to wriggle free but he over-powered me and forcefully deflowered me. I bled throughout that night, crying uncontrollably till the following day. I was also in pains throughout.

“I felt very bad but he warned me that nobody must hear of what he did to me. He also threatened to slaughter me with a knife if he heard it from anybody. That was how he kept sleeping with me at night and eventually got me pregnant.

“How I wish my mother were around; this shameful thing would not have happened to me. It is incredible; my world and life has crumbled. How can I have a child for my father?

“The days that followed my Aunt’s death were both utterly full and completely empty; full of activities, yet empty of life because there was nobody to take care of me and guide me properly.

“Her absence gave my father the opportunity to ruin my life. I feel very ashamed that my own biological father is responsible. Now I think about death frequently because my father decided that I should leave the pregnancy and deliver a male child for him.”

She said her father has even threatened to kill her if she tried aborting the pregnancy. “So I don’t have any choice but to allow it grow; meanwhile, the pregnancy is just four months.”

On his own part, Audu said he always felt pain of someone “toasting” his beautiful daughter and enjoying, after he went through difficulties to raise her. He also described the pregnancy as a “secret arrangement”.

He said;

“She looks beautiful and I always feel the pains that one day, someone else will toast her and start enjoying what I suffered all these years to raise. When her mother left me, I took the pains to bring her up because I could not get married and was alone.

“It started like a joke. I don’t know what came over me; she tried to resist me but I was very harsh on her and she allowed me have my way. Thereafter, we continued unabated. I actually wanted to test her virginity status, to know whether she had started going out with boys but when she told me she missed her period, I decided that she should not abort it.

“She should deliver the baby for me since I don’t have any other child. Thereafter, she can get married to anybody of her choice. This was the secret arrangement we had and I don’t know why she is exposing it now.

“That is the much I can say about it.”

According to a police statement issued shortly after his arrest, the suspect John Reagan Ngobi, told them that he got angry because he remained in poverty.

A family in Nkoben, Narok County, Kenya is mourning their kin who allegedly committed suicide in a police cell.

Vincent Kiplang’at, 21, had been arrested on Thursday last week and put in Lolung’a police station after he allegedly assaulted his wife.

According to his father, David Mutai, the deceased was to be arraigned in a Narok Court on Monday, January 27, but instead he was informed of his death on Sunday.

Mutai said he was called by police officers who informed him that his son had committed suicide by hanging himself using a blanket at the wee hours of the night.

“The deceased had been arrested at Longisa trading center after he was involved in domestic violence with his wife who was demanding separation and division of property,” said Mr Mutai.

Now the family wants the police to carry out investigations on the matter saying the nature of death of their son is questionable.

“What is more worrying is why the police officers on duty did not notice such an attempt of suicide. This is very disturbing and we want a proper probe on the matter,” said Mutai.

He said that the family could not afford Sh30,000 needed for a post-mortem to be carried out on Kiplang’at’s body.

“We are calling on experts to help us get to the root cause of the death. We are still in shock and do not understand the sudden turn of events.

Confirming the incident, Narok South Sub County Police Commander Ezekiel Kiiche said the deceased had a history of violence and mental sickness which could have led to his death.

“We have realized that the young man had a history of violence and mental illness. During the day of arrest, he was very violent and spoke as if he suffered a mental illness,” Kiiche explained.

According to a report by Punch Metro, a yet-to-be-identified woman, on Tuesday, dumped a two-day-old baby girl on the road opposite the Central Mosque in Minna, Niger State.

It was gathered that after dumping the baby, the woman mounted the motorcycle that brought her to the area and fled the scene, where the baby was discovered.

It was learnt that some children, who were playing around the scene of the incident, saw the woman when she dumped the baby.

The children were said to have alerted their parents and a woman, Fatima Adamu, rescued the baby and took her to the Niger State Child Right Protection Agency.


Adamu said people were scared of moving closer to the baby after they were informed that a woman dumped her, adding that she sought the intervention of a vigilante in the area to pick up the baby and take her to the police station.

She stated, “My neighbours called me to the scene and when I got there, I saw people gathered around the area, where the baby was dumped. I was told that an unknown woman, who disembarked from a motorcycle, dumped the baby and fled on the same motorcycle.

“I noticed that everybody was afraid to touch the baby, because the little children playing outside the house were the ones who saw the woman when she disembarked from the motorcycle and dumped the baby. When the children saw that a baby was moving, they immediately informed their parents and neighbours, and everyone rushed to the scene.”

She explained that she sought the assistance of a member of the vigilante corps to pick up the baby and reported the matter at the Central Police Station, Minna.

A police officer on duty attended to Adamu and the vigilante at the station and assisted in bathing the baby after discovering that she was newly born.

Speaking to Northern City News, the police officer said, “When they came to the station with the baby, I noticed she was not bathed after birth. It was as if the mother just gave birth to the baby and immediately dumped her.

“I pleaded with a woman that lives close to the station to assist me with hot water and I bathed the baby. The baby was left in cold and was not doing well. I had to take her to the hospital on Sunday.

“The baby was under my care since Saturday night that she was brought to the station before we took her to the Child Right Agency.”

The Director-General, Niger State Children Right Protection Agency, Mariam Kolo, said, “We are calling on anyone, especially those living around the area, who know of any woman who was pregnant and was delivered of a baby within the last three days and hasn’t been seen with a baby to report to our agency.”

Kolo expressed gratitude to the good Samaritan and promised to work with relevant government agencies to give the child the best of care.

Tragedy struck at the Federal Capital Territory Police command Yesterday when an Inspector at the Dutse Alhaji Division, opened fire on another officer, a Corporal, killing him on the spot.

The suspect also inflicted gunshot wounds on a Deputy Superintendent before turning the gun on himself and opening fire leading to his death.

The pair were seen at the back of the 135 bus having ‘sex’ as they travelled through Prestwich, Greater Manchester, on Tuesday afternoon December 17th.

Gas engineer, John Dolan who sat in his van waiting for his friend, noticed ‘movement’ in the bus which was heading in the direction of a local secondary school, before he quickly filmed the s3x act and sent it to his wife.

The post has gone viral online and has attracted more than 460,000 views with social media users blasting the pair.

John Paul Dolan, from Manchester, said: “It was mad – very strange. It’s just wrong.

“It looked quite vigorous. They slowed down a bit when the bus stopped but were still at it, then carried on again as it pulled off.

“I can’t imagine if an old lady got on the bus and saw them. She’d probably have a heart attack.

“I just hope they’re a couple and not doing it on the sly because now they’ve gone viral.”

As he sent the video to his wife, she also commented on how ‘disgusting’ the lovers were.

John said: “There’s a sandwich shop round the corner and I was waiting in the van for my mates to come out.

"The bus pulled in at the bus stop and I looked up from my phone because I saw movement and thought ‘what’s going on there?’

“There was another woman crossing the road at the time with a smirk on her face. She must have seen it because she looked about embarrassed.

“It’s funny the bus driver didn’t spot them in his mirror or on CCTV.

“There’s kids on that road. There’s a high school about a minute down the road and it was heading in that direction.

“I sent the video my wife and she said ‘that’s disgusting’. Obviously I’m a lad and I find it funny.”

Ondo Killer Cop Arrested For Murdering A Truck Driver

Three days after running away, the Ondo State Police Command, on Thursday, said it had arrested the policeman, who allegedly shot dead a truck driver in Uso on the Akure-Owo Expressway in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

The alleged killer cop, identified as Sergeant Idowu Omosuyi, attached to the Federal Highway Patrol, allegedly shot the driver, Ado Saleh, in the head following an argument that ensued between them on Monday.

The incident had led to a protest by other truck drivers and residents of the town, who demanded that the killer policeman must be brought to justice.

Omosuyi was alleged to have dropped his gun and ran away immediately after committing the crime and was declared wanted by the command.

Five other members of the team had already been arrested and were being detained at the command’s headquarters in Akure.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, said in a statement that the culprit reported at the command headquarters and was already facing orderly room trial.

The statement read in part, “The Ondo State Police Command is pleased to inform the general public that the errant policeman, Sergeant Idowu Omosuyi, who shot and killed a haulage driver at a checkpoint in Uso, near Owo, a few days ago, has turned himself in.

“He surrendered himself this afternoon (Thursday) to a team of investigators constituted by the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State, to probe the incident. He is presently undergoing orderly room trial at the state command headquarters, Akure. This development will no doubt enable us to conclude our investigation speedily and charge the suspect as soon as possible.”

The statement added that the command would never shield any of its personnel who committed any infraction or illegality.
