Samson Siasia Pleads For Help Over Kidnapped Mum 10 Weeks On
Former Nigeria coach and player Samson Siasia says he is still in the dark as to the whereabouts of his abducted mother. Mrs Ogere Siasia, 76, and two others have been held captive since they were seized in Bayelsa, southern Nigeria ten weeks ago.

But Siasia says the police are no closer to finding her. "The police said it's been difficult to track these kidnappers, but my great concern is that my mother is very sick," Siasia told BBC Sport.

"For someone who is unwell to be held against her will is not only callous, but heartbreaking and sad.

"So I can only keep appealing to these guys to please let my mother go. I would like for the government or whoever is capable to help me bring my mother back."

Zidane To Resign If He Loses Real Madrid Support

Zinedine Zidane believes he has the backing of Real Madrid but admits he would leave if he ever felt he had lost the club’s support.

Zidane has come under scrutiny after enduring his worst ever defeat as Madrid coach on Wednesday, a 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The result also followed an underwhelming start in La Liga, which has seen Madrid claim two wins and two draws from games against Celta Vigo, Real Valladolid, Villarreal and Levante.

After returning from Paris, Zidane gave his players the day off on Thursday, which surprised those high up at the club, according to reports in the Spanish press.

Asked if he felt like his methods were being questioned, Zidane said in a press conference on Friday: “No, not at all, the opposite. I think the club helps us all to be strong and supports all the people that work here.

“If it’s ever not like that it would probably be best to leave.”

On his decision to give the players a day off, Zidane added: “It’s not a question of whether they deserve it or not. We have to give them time off.

“They need time with their families, they have to be able to rest. We have seven games in 21 days. They need time away and I understand that.”

Madrid face La Liga’s early frontrunners Sevilla on Sunday, when Zidane will be hoping for a response after his side’s miserable performance in midweek.

Since Zidane returned as coach in March, Madrid have won seven, drawn four and lost five of their matches in all competitions.

Asked if he regrets coming back, Zidane said: “No, that’s easy to answer. It would be easy to say yes in what is a difficult time but it wouldn’t be true. I’m happy to be back and to start again.

“It’s a difficult time at the moment but all I’m going to do is work harder and try to put things right. We all have to try to be together, united.

“When I hear all these questions, it makes everything seem gloomy but when you win everything changes. Things look ugly at the moment but you have to keep working.”

Patrice Evra Leaves Marseille After Being Banned By UEFA For 7 Months For Kicking A Fan (Photo)

This is a bad moment for Marseille defender Patrice Evra who has been banned by UEFA for seven months for his Karate kick to the head of a fan last week. The former Manchester United left back was sent off before a Europa League match in Portugal after being involved in a fracas with traveling Marseille fans with Evra kicking him on the head.
Now, UEFA has banned Evra from playing in European competitions through the end of the season. Evra and Marseille subsequently agreed to terminate his contract.
Read the press statement from the French club;
“Patrice Evra has been exemplary on the field and in the locker room. He played an important role in reviving the team and in the improvement of results. However, on Nov. 2 in Guimaraes he committed an irreparable act by responding to provocations from a handful of individuals. Nothing justified such a reaction, especially from a senior player whose attitude both on and off the pitch should inspire the youngest of us.
“In that context, the conditions were no longer right for Patrice Evra to accomplish his mission here with serenity or, above all, effectively. Both parties agreed to end the collaboration by mutual consent.
“This incident also highlighted the unacceptable attitude of a small number of people who uttered insults and threats of violence towards the player and his family before contemptuously invading the pitch. Such behavior, which exposes the club to sanctions, has no place in the stands of a football stadium and at Marseille in particular.”
Evra’s ban pertains to all UEFA club competitions, and stretches until June 30, 2018. Evra was also fined 10,000 euros by UEFA for the incident.

He beat the likes of Ken Norton and Earnie Shavers while also becoming the only man in history to stop Muhammad Ali on an infamous night in Las Vegas in 1980.

“I listened to that for a while but then found out it was all a lie and you're missing the good stuff man. He's a heavyweight, he's got to get that sh** out of him. But he doesn't want to do it everyday or nothing because that might drain him!”

Aliko Dangote Vows To Sack Arsene Wenger After Buying Arsenal FC

Nigerian billionaire and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has reiterated his plan to buy English Premier League giants, Arsenal.

Mr. Dangote said he would make an offer to the owner of the club, Stan Kroenke, after completing the new refinery that his group is building in Lagos.

He told Bloomberg: “The first thing I would change is the coach. He has done a good job, but someone else should also try his luck." Mr. Wenger has been the manager of Arsenal for 21 years and is the longest-serving manager of any side in Europe.

Fan protests against his rule rumbled on throughout last season but the Frenchman agreed a two-year contract extension last May. Mr. Kroenke had earlier this year turned down a one billion pound takeover offer of the club from his fellow shareholder, Alisher Usmanov.

But Mr. Dangote, 60, apparently believes he can persuade the billionaire shareholders. “If they get the right offer, I’m sure they would walk away,” he said.
“Someone will give them an offer that will make them seriously consider walking away.

“And when we finish the refinery, I think we will be in a position to do that. It’s a great team, well-run. It could be run better, so I will be there. I will wait. Even if things change I will take it.”
