Dino Melaye Reacts To Gov Yahaya Bello's Public Condemnation Of Thuggery


Former Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Malaye, has slammed Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for speaking against thuggery in Nigeria.

Yahaya Bello had earlier today blamed politicians for the spate of insecurity in the country, as cases of bandits attack and kidnappings go on a rise nationwide.


Bello while speaking on Channels Television breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily said the country would be safer when politicians stop using thugs and criminals during elections. He said;


“When politicians stop the use of thugs, touts, or some group of criminal that is when we will begin to have safety and security.”


Reacting to the governor’s statement, Melaye labelled him as the vice chancellor in the institution of thuggery.


“Yahaya Bello’s public condemnation of thuggery, an institution where he is the vice chancellor is a serious sign of psychotic disorder and mental inherited hormonal imbalance,” he tweeted.

Sad!! NYSC Corps Member Returning From Ede Camp Killed By Gunmen


Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly killed a corps member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

According to a report by SaharaReporters, the gunmen also abducted others along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.


The corps members were reportedly attacked on their way from Ede NYSC Orientation Camp, Osun State, and were heading home when they were attacked.


The number of abducted corps members have yet to be ascertained as police, and NYSC authorities have not commented on the incident.


The deceased corps member’s body has been deposited at the Sabon Wuse General Hospital in Niger State.


He was said to be a graduate of English Language from the Federal University, Gashua.

OMG! Woman Tricks Her Friends To Sponsor Her Wedding By Faking Cancer


A 29-year-old woman, has been jailed after she tricked her friends to sponsor her dream wedding by faking cancer.

Toni Standen of Widnes, Cheshire, made up a story that she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had just two months to live.


Friends launched a GoFundMe page to help her and her partner James have a ‘wedding they deserve’.


She has been jailed for five months and ordered to to repay a donation of £2,000 made by a local businessman.


The Crown Prosecution Service said that in June 2015 Standen told two of her friends, Ashlea Rowson and Jennifer Douglas, that she had been diagnosed with terminal vaginal cancer.


Ms Standen provided regular updates on her treatment to her friends with such clarity and detail that the condition was never questioned.


She also shaved her head to appear as though she was undergoing treatment and shared pictures of this on social media.


The fraudster later claimed to have two months to live and said her wish was to have her 57-year-old father Derek, who was dying of cancer, walk her down the aisle.


Her friends began fundraising to help fund the wedding which was held after the death of her father at St Bede’s Catholic Church in Widnes.



Her father Derek died before the wedding but a video he recorded was played on the big day.

One guest said:


‘After hearing her father’s laboured words she got up and gave a faultless speech, even cracking a few jokes.


‘Her mother and brother were in bits. We’d all just listened to a father of the bride message from beyond the grave.


‘Toni even received a video message from Everton FC, delivered by one of the top players. She laughed throughout.’


Eventually she admitted what she had done in a three-way phone call with her friends which they recorded.


In the call she admitted that she did not have cancer and never had.


In a text to friends after she admitted her scam, she said: ‘I love you both, I am thankful for everything over the last couple of years.


‘I am very sorry for all of this, I am embarrassed and heartbroken and right now I am struggling.

Crazeclown Impregnated And Abandoned My Sister - Lady Alleges


A Nigerian lady has called out Comedian Crazeclown who she claimed impregnated and abandoned her sister.

The lady identified as @farida_wholesale on Instagram had earlier taken to the comment section of the actor’s post where he spoke about undying love for his newborn child and posted a photo of his expectant girlfriend baring her baby bump.


The lady then comment; “What if the child dies”.

This made the comedian lose his cool and said her father is a bastard.


The lady then went on to let the cat out of the bag saying Crazeclown has a child with his sister and wants nothing to do with them. She then cursed him saying he will know no peace.






“JoJo your husband is evil. You are insulting me when you know what you did to my sister. You abandoned your child, you don’t want anything to do with her. why impregnate her and even rain curses on our parents. No peace for the wicked. On God you won’t know peace. Na you be…………..” She alleged in one of her posts.


She further blasted him saying he will never know peace in life as there is no peace for the wicked.



Pasuma Celebrates His Daughter As She Becomes A US Navy Officer


Nigerian Fuji musician and film actor, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, also known as “Oganla one”, has taken to social media to celebrate his daughter who just became a US Navy officer.

Taking to social media, the fuji star shared a photo of his daughter Opeyemi Odetola, in her military uniform.

The proud dad thanked God for the feat achieved by his child.

5-year-old girl becomes youngest to die of COVID-19

A 5-year-old girl became the first child to die from COVID-19, after she died on Sunday morning at Beaumont Royal Oak.
The family of Skylar Herbert confirmed the information Sunday night.
Before Sunday, the youngest person who died from coronavirus in Michigan was 20-years-old.
Beaumont Health released a statement Sunday night.
“The loss of a child, at any time, under any circumstances, is a tragedy. We are heartbroken that COVID-19 has taken the life of a child. We extend our deepest sympathy to Skylar’s family and all others who have lost a loved one to this virus. Beaumont Health’

A young Nigerian man has taken to social media to recount his experience with a lady in Edo State  he had planned to spend the lockdown period with.
The man identified as Ayodeji said he travelled to Edo state to meet a lady he had been keeping an online relationship with. Everything was fine on the night he arrived Benin, the lady was homely and had a nice apartment -A 26year old big girl.

The young man woke up the following morning to prepare breakfast in the kitchen but he could not stop perceiving a stench that seems to have saturated the kitchen.

Covid-19: Nine medical staff quarantined in Anambra state

The Management of the St. Joseph hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu, Anambra state has said that nine medical staff of the hospital have been quarantined following their contact with the index case while on admission in the hospital.

The hospital said the staff were quarantined after a meeting with a joint team of National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and Anambra state Ministry of Health.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Administrator, Jerome Okafor, the hospital said the sample taken from the patient admitted to the unit tested COVID-19 positive.

It further revealed that the room occupied by the patient had been decontaminated, while the entire centre had been fumigated.

Family is left devastated as they lose husband, wife and daughter to coronavirus in two weeks

A mum, dad and sister have died from coronavirus in just two weeks leaving a devastated son and brother feeling like someone has "stolen my heart".

After husband and wife Keith, 84, and Jean MacVicar, 82, died a fortnight ago, their devastated family were dealt another blow when the couple's daughter Jayne also died of the killer bug.

The mum-of-two, 62, developed telltale Covid-19 symptoms soon after her parents' deaths, with her younger brother Richard previously asking friends to pray for her recovery.

He posted on social media: “Come on, Jayne, stay strong and fight this please.”

But on Saturday the 60-year-old said: “It’s with heartbreaking regret to say Jayne has lost her battle for life.

“At least we have the comfort of knowing she is back with mum and dad.

“To lose half your family in the space of two weeks feels like someone has cut me open and stolen my heart. So, so wrong.”

Before her death, tragic Jayne had posted multiple messages on Facebook pleading with Brits not to ignore social distancing guidelines and to isolate at home.

The former Staffordshire Police crime analyst had swapped her profile picture for one that said: "Stay home, it could save lives."

The family, from Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, are now facing three funerals in quick succession with only a small amount of mourners able to attend each one.

Bayelsa billionaire dies during liposuction surgery
Keniebi Okoko, Bayelsa-born billionaire businessman and philanthropist, has died in Lagos, throwing many Bayelsans into mourning.

Some reports said Okoko, son of Professor Kimse Okoko, died on Tuesday during a liposuction surgery in a Lagos hospital.

A power outage was blamed for the death.

Okoko was in his early 40s. He contested the Bayelsa primary for the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party last year. He did not succeed.

He was also a pastor of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt.


Many Bayelsans and people who he had touched in his lifetime, were shocked by his sudden death.

They poured out their anguish in posts on Facebook.

“This one came as a big shock to me last night, suddenly gone forever OMG you are just too young for this I can’t even wrap my head around this oh God why?, wrote Stephanie T.Douglas.

Okoko was the founder and CEO KDI Group, said to be involved in oil and gas.

He was reputed to be the godson of former Nigerian leader, Goodluck Jonathan.

According to his Facebook wall, Okoko attended University Demonstration Secondary School (UDSS), Choba.

Sad! Man allegedly beats his 8 months pregnant wife to death

A nurse who was 8-months pregnant has been reported dead and her husband is being accused of beating her to death.

Ms Anya Adaeze, aka Mummy David, was allegedly beaten by her husband, Olabode Oluwasanmi, in Akure, Ondo State.

According to sources, the incident occurred last week. The deceased was 8-months pregnant when the domestic violence incident


It was revealed that she had a misunderstanding with her husband and he allegedly beat her up with an iron rod. The beating was so serious that she was rushed to Federal Medical Centre, in Owo, and upon examination, it was discovered that her uterus had been ruptured.
An emergency Caesarean section was done to bring out the baby but the baby didn’t survive. Adaeze was placed on oxygen and died on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020.
It was gathered that Adaeze, who was the breadwinner of the house, had allegedly revealed to her colleagues at Federal Medical Centre, Owo, about the abusive nature of Olabode before her death.

Covid-19: Davido’s wife-to-be, Chioma tests positive for coronavirus

Davido’s Fiance, Chioma Avril Rowland, has tested positive for coronavirus, Davido announced on his social media pages.

Hey everyone ! I came back recently from America after cancelling tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby.

We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March.

Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby. We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever.

She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self isolation for the minimum 14 days.

I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your endless love and prayers in advance and to urge everyone to please stay at home as as we control the spread of this virus! Together we can beat this!

COVID19: Chinese government donate medical kits to Nigeria

The Chinese government has donated locally made medical kits to Nigerian healthcare workers. The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, made this known via his twitter handle writing;

Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, tests positive for coronavirus

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has tested positive to coronavirus (COVID-19).

The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mukhtar Gidado, just announced this in a statement.

This comes a day after the governor took the test after he had contact with the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who has tested positive to the deadly bug.

COVID19: Cuban doctors arrive Italy to battle coronavirus

52 doctors from the Caribbean nation of Cuba have arrived in Italy to assist with the challenges of the coronavirus in that country.

Italy has become the country with the most deaths linked to the virus in the world, overtaking China, which is where the virus originated, leaving the country quite overwhelmed in trying to treat patients.

This lead to the European country making the request of Cuba, which is regarded as having one of the best healthcare systems in the world. In light of this, Cuba has sent fifty-two highly skilled doctors to help the Italians in their time of need.

The brigade of doctors will head to the crisis-hit area of Lombardy that is the worst affected region in Italy. Hundreds died on Saturday as the numbers continue to balloon with no end in sight.

COVID19: Veteran Spanish opera singer tests positive for coronavirus

Spanish opera singer Placido Domingo has announced through a Facebook post that he has coronavirus and is in self-isolation.

In his statement, Domingo, 79, urged others to be 'extremely careful' and follow the basic guidelines of hand washing and social distancing to stop the spread of the disease.

The veteran singer decided to get tested after suffering from a high fever and a cough, and the test has since come back positive.


Domingo and his family are now in self-isolation for however long is 'medically necessary' but the singer also rallied his fans with encouraging words.

He said: 'Together we can fight this virus and stop the current worldwide crisis, so we can hopefully return to our normal daily lives very soon.'

Coronavirus: Eko Hotel shut over threat of Covid 19

Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island was on Sunday shutdown  by the management over threat of the deadly Coronavirus.

The hotel’s management announced on Sunday that it has shut the edifice, saying that its decision to shut the hotel was a difficult one, but had to be taken in the interest of the public.

Lagos has been the epicentre of Coronavirus in Nigeria with over 20 cases confirmed in the state.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, six new coronavirus cases were diagnosed in Lagos on Sunday, bringing the total to 24, four in Abuja, one in Oyo and one in Ekiti.

Coronavirus: Aisha Buhari calls for total lockdown

The First Lady, Aisha Buhari this morning called for a total lockdown over the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

She commended the state governors for closing down schools but stated that it could be counterproductive if children stay and home and parents go to work.

In a tweet via her official page, she said ” It is commendable that state governors have closed down schools; however, this could be counterproductive if parents are still going to work. We should not isolate students and expose their parents.

Housewife allegedly stabs ‘peacemaker’ during fight

A housewife, Salimat Hamza, on Friday appeared in a Kaduna Upper Sharia Court, for allegedly stabbing a ‘peacemaker’, who was trying to separate a fight.

The 22-year old defendant, who resides along Taiwo Road Kaduna, is charged with causing grievous hurt.

The prosecution counsel, Insp. Abubakar Shehu, told the court that the ‘peacemaker’ who was also the defendant’s neighbour, Halima Musa, reported the matter at Sabon Gari Police Station on March 15.

He alleged that the defendant on March 15 stabbed the complainant with a knife when she tried to separate a fight between Hamza and another neighbour.

Shehu said that the complainant suffered deep cuts on her head and hand.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 219 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The judge, Mustapha Umar, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum. He thereafter adjourned the case to April 3, for further hearing.
