Ahmed Musa Quit Super Eagles Camp For Personal Reasons

Gernot Rohr has disclosed Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa was excused from the Super Eagles training camp in London for “family reason”. Ahmed Musa was not part of the Eagles practice match Monday night at the Hive Stadium, but he instead flew down to Nigeria.

The forward was sensationally overlooked for the Eagles captain’s armband with Turkey-based midfielder Ogenyi Onazi handed that responsibility to lead the eagles in last week’s friendly against Senegal in London.

“Ahmed Musa quit camp for personal, he had to go,” Rohr said in a radio interview monitored this morning.

The Franco-German coach further announced his captain and vice-captain.

“Mikel (Obi)is the first captain, Onazi for the moment the second captain,” he announced. “Onazi was previously vice-captain.”
