Confusion: Man’s Corpse Found Floating In A Hotel Swimming Pool In Lokoja (Photo)

There was confusion yesterday in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital when the corpse of a young man identified as Mohammed Suberu was discovered at a popular hotel in the state capital. It was learnt that the corpse was found floating in the swimming pool of the hotel, located in Lokongoma Phase 2 area, where he was said to have gone to swim in the morning of Monday.

The body was later taken to the state specialist hospital in Lokoja where he was confirmed dead.

But the atmosphere became tensed when friends and colleagues of the deceased invaded the premises of the hotel. The youths attacked the workers and property of the hotel, and policemen had to be deployed to restore calm.

The general manager of the hotel, Audu Alhassan, would not speak on the matter.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kogi state command, William Anya, said when the friends of the deceased mobilised to attack the hotel, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led his men to put the situation under control.
