A statement from the Secretary to Kogi State Government, Mrs Folashade Arike, today said that Mercy Johnson and 53 other appointees were named in various areas as Senior Special Assistants. Nine others were appointed as Special Advisers.
By this appointment, Governor Bello has booked his name among governors who appointed star entertainers into offices relevant to their areas of specialisation. Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) had a place in Delta State; Nkiru Silvernus (Ble Ble) had a place in Imo State; while Desmond Eliot, got elected to represent his constituency in Lagos State.
Many people have described the appointment of Mercy Johnson as a potential boost to the entertainment industry in Kogi State, judging from her role as a film maker with a lot of creative innovations in all her interpretations.
