The prosecutor, Sergeant Francesca Job, told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offence on February 6, 2017, at about 9:20pm.
She said that the defendant unlawfully used razor blade to inflict wound on the left breast of one Esther Onogwu, 22, who is a cleaner at Eko Hotel.
“On the day of the incident the Victim was on her way home after the close of work when the defendant approached her and demanded for the key to her room, while Onogwu was demanding to know who the defendant was, and why she would be asking for the key to her house, the defendant suddenly brought out a razor blade and started cutting her on her head and also cut her left breast.”
“After inflicting the injury on the complainant, she was about to leave the place when eye witnesses that were around apprehended her and asked her to take the victim to the hospital for treatment, but she refused, saying that she doesn’t have money to take her for treatment. It was some of the eye witnesses around that later took Onogwu to the bar beach Police station, and then the police took her to the hospital,” the prosecutor said.
The presiding Magistrate, F. Botoku granted the defendant who is a nursing mother of a three weeks old baby, bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case to March 1, 2017, for mention.
